About the Liverpool map

the Mersey waterfront on your wall

Liverpool's map is defined by the broad sweep of the Mersey. The city curves along the east bank, with the Pier Head and the Royal Albert Dock at the hinge and the old dock system stretching in a chain to the north and south — a waterfront that once handled a huge share of world trade.

Inland, the streets fan uphill from the river: the Georgian Quarter's neat terraces climbing along Hope Street between the two cathedrals, radial roads spreading towards Everton and Toxteth, and the green ovals of Sefton Park and Princes Park anchoring the south. Across the water, Birkenhead mirrors the composition.

Midnight Blue: the signature pick: deep maritime navy, the Mersey at night with the docks lit up.

Centre on the Pier Head with a 5 km radius: the dock chain along the Mersey, both cathedrals, the Georgian Quarter, Sefton Park and a strip of Birkenhead across the river all fit in one balanced frame.
