Paris Map Poster: the City of Light, mapped
Why Paris works so well as a map poster
Paris is defined by the Seine. The river curves through the city and creates a natural focal point that makes any Paris map poster immediately recognisable, with the Île de la Cité sitting right at the centre of the frame.
Add the boulevards radiating from the Arc de Triomphe, the Tuileries and the Champ de Mars, the organic lanes of Montmartre and the Marais, and the Périphérique drawing the city's famous oval outline: Paris was made for map art.
Best palettes for Paris
- Warm Beige — classic and timeless; matches the limestone of Haussmann's buildings.
- Copper Patina — aged, vintage feel, like a map from a Parisian antique shop.
- Pastel Dream — soft pinks and lavenders. Romantic and very Parisian.
Where to centre the map and which radius to use
Centre on Notre-Dame with a 5 km radius and the whole city inside the Périphérique fits the frame, Seine in the middle, Bois de Boulogne and Vincennes on the edges. For a Montmartre-only poster go down to 2 km.

Design your own Paris poster
Pick any of the 17 palettes, set the exact centre and radius described above, choose the size and the label text (Paris, or a neighbourhood name), and we render it for you from live map data after checkout. From 14 €, usually ready in 5–15 minutes.
Which size to print
City maps with lots of fine streets reward size: 30×40 cm is the sweet spot for a desk or hallway, 50×70 cm and 60×90 cm turn the map into a statement piece where individual streets remain legible from across the room. Stick to matte paper so the dark palettes do not reflect. Read the printing and framing guide.
